Hello, friends.

If you're receiving this, you are someone who means a lot to us, whether that's through years of faithful prayer and financial partnership during our time with YWAM Brisbane, or through the beautiful community we've built together here in Minnesota and in Washington over the last three years. We're grateful for you and we're glad this found you.

We're reaching out today because we have a significant announcement: the Abramson family is returning to the mission field with YWAM Brisbane.

The Word We've Been Holding

When we left YWAM Brisbane in 2023 to move back to the States and get married, we didn't leave with a sense of closure. We left with a word, a quiet but persistent conviction from the Lord that our time there wasn't finished. We've held onto that word for nearly three years, through a season of slowing down, building a home, and starting a family. It's been a genuinely beautiful season. We welcomed our daughter Francine (Frankie) into the world, put down roots in Minnesota, and watched God provide, teach, and love us in ways we're still processing. There have been too many blessings to count.

But through it all, the call back to Brisbane never went quiet. It only got clearer.

Now, with a deep sense of peace and not a small amount of holy fear, we feel a release from the Lord to answer that call. As a family.

What This Looks Like

Zach will return in the same role he carried before: leading the Discipleship Training School (DTS). For those unfamiliar, the DTS is the foundational school of YWAM, a six-month intensive combining classroom teaching, community living, and cross-cultural outreach. As a DTS leader, Zach's work is to shepherd students through some of the most formative months of their lives: helping them encounter God more deeply, discover their calling, and be sent out to the nations. It's demanding, it's beautiful, and it’s a role he is so excited to take up again.

Hannah will be working part-time with the BLS (Basic Leadership School) team; this is a secondary leadership course/internship for staff on Brisbane’s campus. As the organizations name states, YOUTH equipped for missions is one of the driving purposes of YWAM, and one of the ways this is accomplished is by raising up and empowering youth with tools and responsibility as they learn and practice what it means to have Christlike character and lead in the fear of the Lord.

And of course, in tandem with these roles that we are privileged to have a part in, is the greatest responsibility that the Lord has invited us into in the role of parenthood. This is not a secondary role, or one that takes a backseat to any “vocational ministry” roles, but rather this is the primary place we have been called to disciple. We feel for this season our family is being invited to be a part of what the Lord is doing in YWAM Brisbane, but we as parents are ALWAYS called to disciple our kids towards the right loves, to train and raise them up as ones that know the Lord, and model lives of obedience to a Father who loves us.

Our hearts have always been toward missions. That is always full of unknowns, but the Lord has asked us to go, and we want to say yes to that. Whatever that obedience looks like and however long it lasts, we are holding it all with open hands.

An Invitation to Come With Us

YWAM missionaries are fully self-funded, which means we raise 100% of the financial support needed for our family to live and serve in Brisbane. This is the model Jesus himself lived out, sustained through the generosity of those who believed in the mission (Luke 8:1-3). We've always seen this not as a burden, but as an invitation for community. You become genuinely part of what God is doing through your giving.

Would you prayerfully consider partnering with us?

Before anything else, we want to ask you to pray. Pray for us, pray for the work in Brisbane, and pray about whether the Lord is inviting you into partnership with us. We genuinely believe that a person faithfully interceding on our behalf is just as vital to this mission as any financial gift. We don't take that lightly, and we don't say it to soften an ask. We mean it. If all you do is pray for us, we are so grateful.

We are working toward $5,500/month in recurring support. That covers our family's living expenses, base fees, and the costs of doing ministry long-term in Brisbane. We are also fundraising towards a one time sum of $9,750 to cover things like plane tickets, a deposit on a rental home/apartment, a vehicle, etc. We're hoping to return toward the end of this year, Lord willing, which means the next several months are a crucial season of building our support team.

And if you feel led to give financially, would you consider becoming a monthly partner? One-time gifts are equally welcome. Ultimately, the amount matters far less to us than the obedience. If the Lord is stirring something in you, we just want you to follow that.

To give, you can do so at our EquipNet page:

How to Pray for Us

We want you to know specifically what you're praying for, not just that we exist. Here's where we'd love your intercession right now:
